Esther de Rooij
As a PhD student at the departments of Nephrology and Clinical Epidemiology I work on several projects, assessing urinary biomarkers in the setting of kidney ischemia-reperfusion injury, optimal serum potassium levels in both predialysis and dialysis patients and the evolution of health-related quality of life and symptom burden before and after start of dialysis in elderly patients. Furthermore, I am in training to obtain the Epidemiologist-B registration and have an outpatient clinic for patients with polycystic kidney disease, where I also collect data for the Developing Intervention Strategies to Halt Progression of ADPKD (DIPAK) observational study.
