Thomas Y.M. Pollenus, PhD

Thomas graduated in Biological Sciences from the University of Liège, Belgium and subsequently acquired his master degree in Biochemistry and Molecular and Cellular Biology at the University of Liège. During his masters an internship and a master thesis on the importance of uPAR in the signalization of angiogenic growth factors was completed inside the GIGA institute.
He started his doctoral thesis in 2014 inside the molecular angiogenesis laboratory in GIGA institute. During this project he tried to better understand the relationship between VEGF and BMP9 in the context of the vascular disorder known as Hereditary Hemorrhagic Telangiectasia (HHT). In November 2018 he received his PhD and since the 15th of October joined the team of Franck Lebrin.
Inside this team he works on HHT and different pre-clinical models to study vascular disorders and drugs efficiencies.
