Maaike Kapteijn

Maaike Kapteijn is a PhD candidate at the department of Internal Medicine, division of Thrombosis and Hemostasis, at the Leiden University Medical Center, the Netherlands. Previously, she studied Biomedical Sciences at the Utrecht University, with a master’s degree specializing in cancer, stem cells and developmental biology, and gained research experience at the Ludwig Institute for Cancer Research at the University of Oxford, UK. Currently, her research focuses on the role of coagulation factors in cancer-associated thrombosis with a specific interest in glioblastoma-related venous thromboembolism, under the supervision of Prof. Dr. H.H. Versteeg and Dr. J.T. Buijs.
