Chrissta Maracle, PhD

I am a post-doctoral researcher with a strong background in molecular biology, biochemistry and cell biology, specialized in immunology and vascular biology. My overall research aim is to validate novel genes associated with venous thrombosis (VT), identified through genome wide association studies, and determine their biological relevance (if any) using in vitro, ex vivo and in vivo murine systems. Through this work, my end goal is to elucidate unique signaling pathways contributing to VT and potentially unlock new therapeutic options that may ameliorate thrombosis without the unwanted side effect of bleeding.
