Chris van der Bent

Chris van der Bent (1962) is Laboratory Manager of the Einthoven Laboratory for Vascular and Regenerative Medicine.

Chris studied at the “Leidse Hogeschool” and graduated (1986) BSc analytical chemistry.

In 1986 he started as a research technician in the Department of Endocrinology at the University of Leiden. In 1994 he became head technician and successfully finished Middle Management training.

In 2013 Chris became Laboratory Manager of the Einthoven Laboratory. He is responsible for all aspects of the labs, including equipment, employees, supplies, software and documentation. He provides technician , PhD students and Postdoc’s training in the use of lab equipment , in addition to mentoring and disciplining lab staff. Einthoven laboratory wants to promote and maintain an ethical research environment and is implementing rules and conditions imposed by “Good Research Practise” (ISO 9001) standard.

Chris is installed as a Research Integrity Officer.
